Hikers can relax in our hot tub after hiking the West Coast Trail or many of the trials through lush old growth forests. Enjoy all that the Pacific Rim National Park has to offer while you use our comfortable lodge as your base camp. We offer FREE pick-up to our guest doing the West Coast Trail so the only hiking you have to do is on the trail. Pristine beaches are just a 15 minute walk from the lodge. Yours to discover.

Pacific Rim National Park

This unique park is composed of three parts - Long Beach, the West Coast Trail and the Broken Group of Islands.The Broken Group is a collection of numerous island and are a short boat ride from the Lodge.Sand beaches, an island archipelago, old-growth coastal temperate rainforest, and significant archaeological sites.

The world-famous West Coast Trail is now an 80 km-long (45 miles) section of Pacific Rim National Park that was originally built as a lifesaving trail to rescue shipwrecked sailors. Today it is a popular hiking trail for experienced hikers from all over the world.

The village of Bamfield is the Northern Head of the West Coast Trail with a unique boardwalk running along the shoreline, a Marine Biological Station and the Bamfield Lifesaving Station.

Botley Lake Trail:

From the West Walbran Trail, a 5km trail leads to pristine Botley Lake. This remote hike offers a true wilderness experience as you walk through the old growth cedar and fir of the area. From Botley Lake, you can also follow the route to Auger Lake.

Cape Beale Trail:

A 5km moderate trail provides ocean views and beach combing opportunities.

Carmanah Pacific Park:

The trails in the park provide a fabulous wilderness experience with a chance to see giant spruce along the water. The complete valley trail covers 20 km over 1 plus days of travel. You may wish to explore shorter options from the trail head on Rosander Main. However, be prepared for harsh west coast conditions as the trail can sometimes be wet and muddy trails.

Cheewat Lake Trail:

It's a short easy trail through giant cedar trees to the lake.

West Walbran Trail:

A rugged 14.5km wilderness hike along the valley bottom through old growth rain forest with waterfalls, canyons and pristine lakes. Be prepared for harsh west coast conditions, a wet & slippery trail and a cable car crossing.
